What is a FLAP Grant?

During the 2007 summer, Desert Willow Elementary School was awarded a 3-year Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP for short) Grant from the Office of English Language Acquisition at the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will provide seed monies to develop a Foreign Language Program in the non-immersion classes. It has also secured funding for the school's Spanish Immersion Program by providing materials in Spanish, curriculum development and alignment, professional development opportunities for staff and language assessments.
