Student Expectations

ATTENDANCE REGULATIONS

TRUANCY

For district specific information reference part "C" of the CCUSD student handbook grade 12-K.

ARS 15-802 The parent/legal guardian of a student between the ages of 6-16 must enroll their

child in school. By not complying with the law, the parent/guarding could be guilty of a class

three misdemeanor (which could mean a fine of up to $500 and or possible jail time).

ARS-803 Ditching one or multiple classes is considered being truant.

*Failure to attend school regularly could result in fines, community service, counseling, and/or revoke driving

privileges.


CAMPUS PASSES
When out of class, students are expected to have an official school pass. Failure to follow this procedure may result in your being counted absent or truant.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Students who violate school or district policies are subject to disciplinary action. Reference part "C" of the CCUSD student handbook grade 12-K.

PERMISSION TO LEAVE CAMPUS

1. Prior to leaving campus during the school day, you must obtain a Permit to Leave Campus from the

attendance office. To receive this pass, a parent must call the attendance line (480) 575-2431 before 7:20AM that morning.

2. When it is time to leave class for your appointment, present the Permit to Leave Campus to your teacher

(your teacher will not excuse you without it). Bring this pass to the attendance office and sign out.

3. Upon returning to campus you must first sign in at the attendance office. * Students must be signed  

out by parents during lunch time (10:20-11:57)

4. Leaving the campus without prior permission and without signing out is cause for disciplinary

action. (Parking privilege will be revoked)


REMAINING AFTER SCHOOL
Students are welcome to stay after school for a special activity, athletics, clubs, meeting with a teacher, or using the
library. Students staying late should make arrangements to be picked up.

CLOSED CAMPUS POLICY

Cactus Shadows High School is a closed campus. Students should not arrive before 6:45 A.M. unless arrangements have been made with the school personnel.

Once you arrive on the school grounds, you must remain until the normal dismissal time unless given permission by

the office. For the purpose of the closed campus rule, the campus is considered to be the area bounded by the

fencing. The parking lot is a restricted area during the school day. Students must first obtain a pass from the

office staff or security team to go to the parking lot.

* Students will not be permitted to leave campus at  lunchtime (10:20-11:57) unless a parent comes into the

attendance office and signs out the student. Upon returning to school, parents must sign their student in at the attendance office. (If you leave campus without a pass, your parking privilege will be revoked)
