CCUSD is proud of its partnerships with numerous government agencies, higher education, businesses and community organizations. These mutually beneficial relationships have advanced the goals of the schools and their communities. Our partners have committed money, equipment, time and resources invaluable to our school and district community. Strong collaborations provide the connecting links that enable partners to commit themselves to specific goals and activities intended to benefit students. We would like to thank our partners for their commitment to public education and the Cave Creek Unified School District. |

Builders Clubs Kiwanis of Carefree sponsors Builders Clubs at three middle schools: Bella Vista, Desert Arroyo and Sonoran Trails. Over 60 students are involved. Builders Club takes the Kiwanis community service format to students in grades 6 - 9. K-Kids K-Kids brings the concept of community service into the elementary schools. We sponsor three K-kids clubs in the elementary schools Black Mountain, Horse Trails, and Lone Mountain. About 60 students are involved and gain an appreciation of community service that may positively affect them for life. Key Leaders Key Leader enhances the service leadership skills in youth who have demonstrated talent in this area. Through this developmental experience, the Key Leader will learn that the most important part of service leadership comes from helping others succeed. Manny Gonzales Chair of Key Leaders and Key Club Lt. Governor, Jennifer Risz Terrific Kids Terrific Kids is an elementary school program that rewards children for character. Awards are made every month in every grade in five elementary schools. That's 225 children recognized each year with fun prizes, photo on school bulletin board, and a bumper sticker for the proud parent. The awards are based on six character traits which are promoted by CCUSD. Successful reinforcement of these traits is a result of good partnership within the community. Musicfest 480.488.0806 Each summer the Continuing Education division of the Cave Creek Unified School District presents a "College for Kids Program" to which Arizona Musicfest adds its support. For many years, we presented a music appreciation course taught by Caroline Olshefska, a founder of Musicfest. Now, a variety of educators bring their own expertise and flavor to this popular course which teaches music terminology, along with great music based on the summer's theme. Arizona Musicfest provides funding for special projects which in the past have included students making their own raindrums, taking home a tape of the music they listened to in the course and other fun, hands-on experiences. Brummitt-Taylor Music Listening Program
A major Musicfest goal is to bring great classical music into the lives of as many school children as possible. In 2003, Musicfest began a daily classical music listening program in the elementary schools of the Cave Creek Unified School District where some 900 elementary school students listened to classical music for 5 to 10 minutes every school day. Thanks to Musicfest, teachers received copies of the Brummitt-Taylor Music Listening Program, which included a simple manual and CDs. Teachers also received CD players and training. Instrumental Music Instruction When a child in our school district demonstrates a desire to learn to play an instrument, we applaud! We believe every child should be enabled to experience the joy of learning to play an instrument. Arizona Musicfest will continue to offer scholarships to any family in need so that they may rent the proper size and style of instrument for their child/children. Live Concert Experiences
Arizona Musicfest also provides live concert experiences for older students who play musical instruments. For several years, the Arizona Musicfest Festival Orchestra has performed for instrumental and vocal students in the Cave Creek Unified School District. In addition, we present a concert by the Phoenix Youth Orchestra Symphonette just for the kids in grades 3-5. To prepare children for concerts, volunteer docents from Arizona Musicfest often visit classrooms and introduce the music and composers to the children. Music teachers take part in this effort as well. Arizona Musicfest believes that offering children the opportunity to hear live music will heighten their interest in instrumental programs and encourage them to become the concert goers of the future. In addition, Arizona Musicfest presents concerts during the year. The Young Artist Concert held at Pinnacle Presbyterian Chapel in November is free to all families, as are the Finals of our Young Musicians Competition in early April. The concerts of our annual festival in February and March are appropriate for children; tickets are $5 per child. Call the office for more information at 480-488-0806. Other Support Arizona Musicfest takes pride in helping the Cactus Shadows Band Boosters through the donations the Boosters receive from efreshments sold at intermission during our Festival and at other events. We also support the band by inviting these talented musicians to play prior to festival concerts. The Jazz Band has been a frequent guest and has received enthusiastic applause and accolades from our patrons.
Soroptimist Soroptimist International is a worldwide organization for women in management and professions, working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women. Filling Backpacks for School kids In August, our club has a one-day retreat that includes this activity. We get backpacks and lots and lots of school supplies to put in them. We are furnished with lists from the local schools and from that we secure the variety of items we need. It's a hands-on event! We then deliver our donation to the schools.
