If it's Tuesday, it may be FRYEday!

If you are in Mrs. Dubin's class, then you know how special some of our Tuesdays have become. Mrs. Shirley Frye has dedicated her life to promoting a rich understanding of mathematical concepts in her students. During her full career she joined many professional teams helping other dedicated teachers increase their students' knowledge and understanding of math. As a member of the National Council for the Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) she soon served on the board and later became its national president.

Retirement is a foreign word to Mrs. Frye. With nary a bit of coaxing, I was able to persuade her to join our class for another year. She tries  to visit our class at least twice a month.  Students increase their number sense as Mrs. Frye helps to pique interest through clever techniques and math games in her own special teaching style.
